So it occurred to me that Uncharted Worlds could handle a cyberpunk game really well.

So it occurred to me that Uncharted Worlds could handle a cyberpunk game really well. Hacking could be narrative and very dynamic. Cyber ware could easily be treated as assets and data points used for matrix style games. I’m thinking I might have to run a cyberpunk game here in the next month or so

  1.  I had been looking at The Sprawl (things came up and haven’t had a chance to finish or give it a good read-through) and I find it intriguing. I wish it was a bit more like UW and less like AW, but it does have some cool concepts. I really like the mission clock.

  2. Jared Rascher agreed. I think I wouldn’t use clocks though but use the same damage tracks as in uncharted worlds. The only difference is figuring out how to deal damage to factions

  3. Right. But if you’re playing a mecha game I think it’s fine to start with one even if it’s a class 4. It could be owned by a faction so it’s not yours. Or if it is yours maybe you have some serious debt to the faction.

I think the key is the narrative. If your playing a mecha game you have access to mecha. It doesn’t matter what the rules say for starting characters. Right?

  4. Chalice In Chains was going to say this. You get it as part of a faction but your ass is owned by them: You’re part of corporate strike team or the Robotech Force (or whatever the earth thing was called in the series). Granted, makes it somewhat more challenging for the setting because the characters are almost forced to be part of the same faction.
