Daylight Savings Time  in the Supernatural world

“Okay, so tomorrow is [insert event name here] and midnight is a little more than an hour away. I’ve got to finish locking myself up or there’s going to be a small collection of corpses and new [insert conversion capable supernatural creature here] as I go through the people I like and don’t like.”

“So, supernatural events obey daylight savings time?”

“No, of course they don’t. Why the hell would you even….oh…oh crap.”

  1. Killed by a werewolf, drained by a vampire, somewhat eaten by a zombie…or just killed (ghost). Death is not a valid excuse for your absence, Jenkins!

Or incorporate the new character in  a mystery as a helper who remains with the group or gains the player new powers. Jenny was a “Flake” but after being exposed to red matter “accident” she is is now a very confused sixth dimensional “Monstrous” being who calls herself “Jenny-who-is-Many” with an annoying syntax like Yoda.
