A Heel Hack
I know sometimes the “cheat to win” ability on the Heel Move can cause consternation. Here’s a hack to it that involves a little bit of bookkeeping, but may be of value to structuring the “sense” of it:
You can only use the Heel Move as many times as you have Audience. When your Audience resets, so does this counter. If you gain Audience, you get another “slot” to use it; if you lose Audience and you’ve already hit your cap, there’s no additional change.
Treating the Heel Move as a limited resource by itself may create the mindfulness of “picking your spots” and only using it when it really heightens the drama that sometimes is hard to convey otherwise.
I think that’s a good compromise. I know that some of the people I run are more competitive and like to ‘win’ challenges. Which doesn’t always jive with *World games. So this should help some.
I like this a lot, because some people see the “I get to win no matter what” and are inclined to abuse it, I’m afraid to say.
