A Warboys update. So I’m not sure how I feel about some of the structures I’ve been making. I think the rotating MC could be cool, but I’m not sure if it’s understandable or too difficult for some players to pick up. I’m equally unsure if the conflict moves are going to do what I want, be hey, sometimes you just gotta write and see how you and other feel about it later. Thoughts are appreciated.

Still a big fan of this. A couple of thoughts.
I think the rotating GMs will work fine; it’s all note form at the minute so it would require more explanation in a full version but in the context of a PBTA group, it makes perfect sense. I like the differing agendas and principles.
A slight confusion: if the players are controlled by e.g. their own beliefs instead of a charismatic leader, how does the figurehead role work?
Also, I think you’d be able to explore your themes in more depth with a more defined setting. By making it all theme and no setting, you’re inevitably missing out on the specificity that’ll make it feel universal.
I think a figure head based on their own beliefs could be something like mob justice, the current alpha dog, or an unofficial council of respected warboys. I can see what you mean about creating some more setting, but I’m not sure if that’s the game I’m interested in. I’m still not sure if I even consider this game pbta yet. But I think I like how this concept can adress a number of situations. What I might do if I get the game working right is micro settings, little snip bits that alter the world creation to create a specific type of world, but that will likely change when I discover what I have in this game.
Really good, I’d like to see how it develops. I think what its missing, though are specific examples. I feel like it’d help inspire those playing the game.
Also, The rotating MC is probably a good idea, especially with the expected levels of death, but make sure to mechanize it if you choose to go down that route. Maybe each new MC introduces different themes? Maybe you only change after someone dies, making it feel inevitable, but like the start of something new. Things are different, but the end will be the same and we all know it
also, what if someone wants to be Nux? is their opportunity for escaping the cycle? Just some things to think about 🙂
Yes, when you break all of your oaths, you are no longer a warboy, your something else. Of course the game is about characters who are still stuck so your character isn’t playable in this game, and you’ll likely be hunted by your former friends. In mad max, I’m still not sure if Nux died a war boy or not (probably, I think he still had an oath or two). Really, breaking oaths seem dangerous (because they are) but it’s also the way that you you can potentially conquer your situation.
I think one thing that the rotating mc’s might do is normalize the rate in which pc’s die. If your running shorter on pages, then you’ll MC more often which means that you won’t be tearing out pages and other players do. I’m still not sure how themes will play out, but it feels like the MC needs a tool to help set the tone.
