I’m going to be running The Sprawl for some new people soon(3 to be exact). We’re going to be doing a one shot type thing.

I wanted thoughts on ways I can save time with out fully removing the improv elements. So basically I want to leave a few less unanswered questions at the begining of play. Like prehaps I’ll stat up 2 of the corps.

Any other suggestions?

  1. I’d skip talking about the level of technology, nature of the settings and instead have players quickly think about where the Sprawl is located geographically.

Then have each player add one piece of ‘color’ to said Sprawl : endless rain, canals left from the 2042 floods, endless streams of industrial droids flying overhead etc etc.

I would skip making a Corporation yourself (as MC) but let the players decide what nefarious Corps they’ll have to deal with. Be sure to give each of them a role (even a small one) in the mission of this one-shot!

Then maybe restrict them from talking about their Links and Directives for more than a sentence or two. Keep it simple yet impactful.
