Hey Sean Gomes was wondering if drivethru is correct, in that the book and pdf bundle is more than just the book? Typically from what I’ve seen it’s just the same price to get the book as well as the pdf not more to get both?

In my experiences, most RPG publishers charge extra for PDF+book. Basically everything on http://www.indiepressrevolution.com/ and most things on DTRPG do this.
If someone gives you the PDF for free after buying the book, they get my praises.
oh really? Alright…cause everything I’ve bought usually does give you the pdf with the book. The hood, undying, urban shadows, stars without number, Space Wurm vs moonicorn both versions, stars without number and all the supplements, uhh action movie world, the sprawl, fellowshop, legacy, monsterhearts when I brought it through Avery herself, anyways. Many, many games give you the pdf with the book with the book being more costly — so that’s why I’m asking. If it’s deliberate that’s fine but was unsure if it’s a mistake or not, is all.
http://drivethrurpg.com/product/151507/Legacy-Life-Among-the-Ruins Legacy looks to be $2 more for the PDF and book. But that also looks like they’re purposely discounting it so it may simply be a math error.
Point is a shit ton of products include it with the book, right. Like most everything I’ve purchased today and previously so wanted clarification.
You can play it a couple of ways, be you a small sole publisher or a larger company. I think that’s about it?
Yes, I want both pdf and book but expected both to be included and wondered if it wasn’t so intentionally or not. That’s all I wanted to know ~
I don’t believe “That’s all I wanted to know”, as you immediately got defensive when I told you my experience was the opposite. I think you have an axe to grind and are forming your complaint as an “innocent question”.
Fraser Simons Yes it will be priced that way. Some people include PDF and some don’t, some companies use Bits and Mortar, some don’t.
Yeah, because you’re incorrect. My experience lead to this question, which lead to me wanting clarification.
I just won’t buy the book and get the PDF. If it was a mistake then I’d get the book. I was asking if it’s correct or not and from my perspective you deliberately went out of your way to antagonize me by trying to correct numerous examples I could think of when I purchased and got PDF with pbta and small press titles. Which, pretty much invalidates your personal experiences came into play since you were just attempting to disprove me and not maintain your initial position anyways.
In the end I don’t really care what you believe since I was asking the person who actually has it up for sale if it was correct or not anyways, ya?
Hey now, a little civility please 🙂
To answer the question, the “bundle” is simply the cost of both items individually. It’s something that gets done almost automatically, and you have manually reduce the price for a discount.
At the time I set up the dtrpg store, “free pdf with purchase of book” was a backer reward.
I may revisit pricing when I’m ready to release Far Beyond Humanity but for the moment I’ll be sticking with the current model.
Thank you for letting me know, Sean. I thought I was being civil tbh.
No problem.
The request for civility was an undirected preventative request, no harm meant.
