  1. Well … Its not an option but I will see if some are not that hot with the game if they want to game something else. Otherwise I just bite the pullet and for future games restrict the number somehow. The group is our 13th age, DnD, Blades in the Dark etc group – so the size is quite large

  2. I’m quite accustomed to PbtA games. One of the players has played once in a Monsterhearts game, others are first timers I think. In the Blades game I had six players.

  3. So I haven’t run Masks for a group bigger than five, but I have run MonsterHearts and other PbtA for groups that big. My advice: limit the number of NPCs, and focus more on interactions between the PCs. Encourage fiction that results in characters having goals that conflict. Watch Young Justice season 2, which had about 12 characters that could have been thought of as PC heroes, and all the things it did to make sure it wasn’t just 12 different folks trying to blast the same alien.

  4. I’ve not run enough MASKS to compare it to Monsterhearts, but I think Alan Scott is onto something. Putting the PCs at odds with each other is a way to give players as much spotlight time as possible with a large group.

  5. We did characters to five today. I might get two more, but perhaps not all can make it for every session. The five had absolutely blast creating characters tho – so Masks is sold now 🙂

  6. We will start the campaign today and the final number of players will be six. We have Deliquent, Nova, Doomed, Outsider, Protage and Mask. High hopes and big fears 😀
