  1. I’m going to reskin “Fast Talk” and “Play Hardball” to fit Iron Immortals, as well, but I have not settled on the implementation. Just, knowing my players, I need a better means of resolving bluffing and threats.

    It will come up. Soon.

  2. Trick Dempsey They’re already reskinned into defy danger. I’m all for closing the gap between DW and AW games so that I can better understand AW games as they give me difficulty fully getting my head around. DW, on the other hand, just seems to flow quite well. I do feel like Defy Danger is used too much though, but considering it’s pretty much the equivalent of D&D Saving Throws, it kinda makes sense.

  3. I’m not a fan of Defy Danger for social rolls. (Similarly, Parley can often come across as quite strange when used for threats or bluff.) And I like the clearer consequences of having a split between Play Hardball and Fast Talk. The choice of consequences is more clear and lets the players feel greater ownership of the results than Defy Danger’s partial success, which can sometimes feel strange both as a player and as a GM.

Currently, I’m leaning towards leaving Bluff/Fast Talk to Defy Danger, but I may include some variant of Play Hardball. (I like my players to explicitly know the three possible outcomes of the most common rolls.)

I’m going to see how the next episode goes with neither. It may go fine. Maybe.
