This is our Bull, Casey, who wears a sentai-esque fighting suit. It’s a piece of alien tech bonded to his arm and possibly sentient, providing him both ridiculous tactical readouts and a self-repairing exo-skeleton with a survival drive of its own. For now they have an “understanding” but how long that will last is anyone’s guess.

  1. That’s my boy. I was playing with making a tokusatsu/sentai themed hero and ended up with something that’s like a middle ground between venom and blue beetle. It’s been a lot of fun.

  2. Nathan Camp Not much to tell. There wasn’t any art or anything.

My Janus’ father was the first Chroma Spectrum, a sentai hero from the previous generation. He trapped the bad guys and sealed them away, along with his powers. However, after his wife died, he became anxious for his old powers.

So ‘dad’ opened the portal he once closed, releasing all kinds of wild energy. It caused various metahumans to be created, including our Transformed. Our GM reworked the setting that this was our Flash Particle Accelerator, and started the currently generation of heroes.

However, the power didn’t choose my father-he wasn’t worthy anymore. So my Janus got the power instead, unwillingly becomign the new Chroma Spectrum. Dad went to prison, and my Janus had to look after, not just the city, but his younger brother too.

My character gains different power, depending which color he changes to. At the start, he could only do Chroma Red (energy absorption powers) and Chroma Black (Density Control), in addition to standard Sentai enhanced powers.

At the end of the first (and only) session, he was exposed to new energy, and gained a new ability, Chroma Purple: [Uncontrolled] Portal Creation. Never got a chance to try it out, but got a lot of potential for confessing my identity to both the Transformed and my younger brother.

  3. Chirag Asnani I love that. Very much so in the wacky science/spiritual tone that so many of the shows work off of. Plus it seems great that there theoretically could be a whole team of chromas as well. Very very neat concept!

  4. Nathan Camp To be honest, I made him like that cause I was jealous of the other players. I run (ran) a power rangers game using Fate, so everyone else got to be power rangers, while I was the GM. I had fun (being monsters and over the top villains is always fun) but sometimes, you just want to shout ‘It’s morphing time’ you know?

But yeah, it was a fun character, something I wish I could go back to. So much to expand on.
