We were getting ready to play and one of the players had a question that I wasn’t actually sure of. I can probably solve it easily but I was curious about the intent behind the design.
The Boss gimmick, for their “finisher” says “when you make a match..” is the intent that the Boss can just make any match, because he is the Boss, or is the intent that the Boss should roll for e.g. Cut a Promo and interpret “book yourself in a match” as “book a match”? Or is there another solution altogether that I’m missing?
Very good question. I would say this would only happen via the Cut a Promo or other match making move. For example, two wrestlers are verbally sparing. The Boss comes out and cuts a promo about the two of them and puts them in a match. Boom finisher hits.
I would agree, if only because it allows for the Boss to botch…hilarity ensues.
I just wasn’t sure and was interested in the intent.
Yeah, the overall intent is as Justin says. When another Move lets you make a match, then you use the Boss’s “finisher.” That said, you could also fictionally position the Boss into making a match as a Creative move, and it would apply then as well!
Steven Regal in NXT and Daniel Bryan on Smackdown are great current examples of The Boss
