In our Sprawl game tonight, the operatives are infiltrating the island-wide factory on Zanzibar. So of course they loaded up some driving directions. As you do.

  1. Speaking of game aids. I had an idea of using this book I just heard of: Maze of the Blue Medusa, as a “dungeon” for Sprawl. The idea would go off the beaten path a bit and see a game with only hackers and the “dungeon” would actually be a system they are trying to break into for various reasons. So the game would take place almost exclusively in the Matrix. I’ve never played MotBM or used it but when I heard about it last night that was my initial thought for use.

  2. Read up on the past to better project the future. As an old fogey I was just old enough to exist when Tanzania was formed from the union of the former British colony of Tanganyika and Zanzibar. Zanzibar is actually an archipelago of islands but the main island is informally called “Zanzibar” too. The culture was different from the mainland; the islands were convenient for Muslim ocean-traders. The fusion of Arabic with African languages led to the development of a trade-language which became Swahili, now a very widespread African language. The language pluralizes at the beginning of a word, so child “mtoto” but several children is “watoto”.

    Just some random brain-droppings!
