Any chance the playbooks will be released as single sheets? As they were omitted from the rulebook, I would like to print them in a similar format and size to it for reading purposes.

Duplex print the PDF, they fold over and are about the size of the book, one playbook per sheet.
When you print them duplex, make sure to choose folding them on the short side so they print out correctly.
Thanks. That’s what we do for the table for play, but its not great for reading. I am looking to have all playbooks printed together in a booklet. I get my printing and binding done online, so I have limited options to manipulate them. Folding and/or guillotining pages aren’t amongst those options unfortunately. Single sheets would work though, hence the request.
Luke JW, ah, so your goal is to have the playbooks printed en toto to show the variety of Moves and characteristics for each archetype?
Is the chapter in the book not enough? It does a decent job of describing what each archetype is about and explain how their specific Moves work.
He probably wants the stats, moves, team moves, and such side-by-side, I imagine.
I tend to read my AW Hacks books on the move when learning the game and prepping session. As such, having 10 separate playbooks to juggle, along with the rulebook, is a bit of nightmare.
And no, the chapter in the book doesn’t give the text of the playbooks, so though its useful guidance, it isn’t what I am looking for. I also find it hard to apply the advice when the text of the move it refers to isn’t easy to cross reference.
What I am looking for is to simply have the playbooks printed as is, into a single booklet.
I note that I could print them as is and bind them, but the result would be something larger than the core book and not easy to follow as the layout is designed for individual playbook printing. As such, it would be less than ideal.
Single sheets would be much preferred if they were available, but I can’t seem to find them anywhere.
I realize this could be more work than you’re willing to incur, but have you considered transferring the information into a document that you can format as you wish?
For example, I went ahead and created a Word document for my character following the playbook layout so I could customize it with character-specific items (e.g. picture, description, background).
You could do a similar concept: compress the playbook-specific information into single sheets that you could then print out for your use.
Thanks.
My technical skills are somewhat limited. I had hoped it was something that may easily be produced by Magpie Games, using the existing files.
I can’t promise anything, but if you are up to listing specifically what information you want from the playbooks, I’ll see what I can do.
Pending approval from Magpie Games, of course.
Thanks. Effectively, the information is just the 10 playbooks and the move sheet.
I found an online tool that lets you split PDF pages in half. I can reorder the pages easily enough. The only thing left is resizing the PDF to match the paper sizes.
You should be able to resize for page size when printing. The only catch is that it may affect the image and text resolution.
Yep. Thanks again.
And all with the printer. It should make for a nice 48 page booklet to sit alongside my Masks rulebook 🙂
Glad it worked out for you! 🙂
Luke JW, I would love a copy of that file, but of course only if Magpie is okay with that being shared… It is only a reordering of the already available pages, but I know copyright is a tricky thing.
In the meantime, would you be willing to point me to the online tool you used? Cheers!
I used this free online tool: http://www.a-pdf.com/faq/how-to-split-double-wide-pages-into-two-separate-pages-in-pdf.htm.
Recompiling the pages can be done with a splitter/merger or printing to PDF.
That’ll be bookmarked a soon as I get to my home machine.
And I now have the playbooks printed and bound 🙂
