So just thought I would share. Just finished a character creation session for a game of Masks I ended up running unexpectedly. This is what we ended up with for characters and associated notes:

Art Wart AKA Pendragon- Legacy

Magical arms and armor and superior strength

Great+++++++ Grandson of King Arthur (who is still alive)

Morgana is still alive and causing trouble

Father is former mayor of Halcyon. Scandal of infidelty during re-election. Art doesn’t know if it is true or not.

Nervous about the pressure. Wants to do the right thing, but is afraid of failure.

The Pendragon line frowns on your association with Eidolon

Told Massacre that King Arthur is still alive and about Avalon

Jenn AKA Massacre – Doomed

Faster, stronger, and able to drain vitality

Latest in a line of chosen warriors fated to die facing off against the primordial evil.

Society of the Slaughtered Lamb told her of her fate and provide resources and support. They don’t know the full scope of the struggle anymore as parts of it have been lost to time

Nemesis can send beasts or corrupt men, rarely direct manifestations.

Parents are dead, shortly after coming into power (see how they met).

Opened up to Griz about her fate

Wants to kiss Pendragon before she dies in battle

Griz and Eidolon are key to helping her in her task

Jason Adams AKA Grix – Bull

Human with Bear DNA

Created by U.R.S.A.- Underground Reserve of Soviet Advancement in an attempted to make a sleeper agents, but post cold war they are underfunded and lacking real guidance.

Taken as a kid, doesn’t remember parents

Dr. Sterling, former URSA scientist saved and adopted him.

She was able to practically walk out with Griz due to underfunded security

Eden AKA Eidolon – Nova

Necromantic sorcery

Discovered her powers after her mother died protecting her brother from some bullies.

While trying to stop a carjacking of Anya’s mom, she mummified Anya’s hands on accident. Anya hasn’t spoken to her sense.

Hangs out with Domino the blow of steam because they are kinda brooding, but a good listener.

Raised Massacre’s mother as a zombie to face off against the bearasaurus rex.

Alex AKA Domino – Beacon

Phasing as a mutation and skill at hiding due to that

Androgynous

Parents may or may not have powers but know about Domino’s powers

Parents disagree with the vigilante behavior (maybe super villains or heroes?)

Right out of high school, no real plan, so decided to go vigilante

Jen is awesome and takes every opportunity to hang out with her.

Wants to prove themself to Pendragon to feel like a real hero

When the team came together, they fought a bear/dinosaur hybrid, another of URSA’s experiments, outside of the Cathedral of St Vincent. The fight damaged both the cathedral’s fountain and one bell tower. Jen’s parents also died in the fighting. They managed to subdue the beast without killing it, impressing monster hunting (and collecting) hero Big Game. After the fighting, Domino found a control device on the beast of magic and technological origins, which implied URSA had some new tricks.
