Thinking about the story and crunch of a wrestling show, should dark matches be treat differently to ones on the main show? They may perfect punishments for misbehaving characters and can also be used as part of stories around helping or hindering developmental talents.

I’m currently thinking of makeing dark match a stipulation where you can not gain or lose audience in the match. Anybody else have any other ideas for how to treat this? Maybe something thematically about warming up the crowd?

  1. I like the “no audience gain/loss” stipulation, with maybe a replacement of the winner getting an extra Momentum instead if they would gain Audience.

In terms of impacting the crowd and the show to come, my mind goes towards how to give someone in a dark match a tie-in to later events. Maybe the player can give someone in the first match of the show an extra Momentum to represent a hot crowd, even if they’re not in the match? Something like that.

  2. I like the idea of “Dark Match” being a stipulation, but having having a custom move where your match was so good it gets into the syndicated highlights show at the end of the week and might get you “delayed” audience, but I may he over thinking this.
