I need psychic plants!
So, the end of my apocalypse world campaign is coming, and the characters are going towards the purple woods in order to deploy an atomic bomb there and destroy replicants, zombies and the alien hiveminds therein.
Which kind of critters, obstacles and panoramas could they find inside the forest?
I would opt more for eerie, ethereal things than for pulpyness, but everything is good!
Moreover, i need advice for two moves:
When you find a plant that has the memory and shapes of the father that abandoned you…
When you want to kill a plant with the memory and shape of your dead lover…
Something that puffs up glowing spores to look like huge eyes watching you through the trees – an adaptation to scare away predators?
If you want the forest to get inside people’s heads, you could have players track a Hx with the forest – as it probes their minds with plants that look like their memories or whatever they get to know each other better, and as players cross Hx thresholds with the forest their ability to act against it become more difficult?
Possibly off on a tangent, but I’d look up what the Deep Dream thing thinks of forests, like so: https://goo.gl/images/iqi5EO.

Hrm, there was an old Gamma World plant with psychic powers. It would mentally stun/kill anyone that disturbed its root system (which fanned out like a carpet). The victim would then been slowly consumed.
I had a psychic forest in one of my games. We used this move: Acclimatize: When leaving Kingsport (and entering the jungle) roll +Weird. On a 10+ choose 2; On a 7-9 Choose 3. On a miss answer a question from the landscape and take -1 forward:
The whispers of alien minds distracts you, take -1 forward
The landscape asks you a question, answer truthfully.
You can ask the landscape one question, it will answer truthfully.
You can ask the landscape one question, it will lie.
