Hello, I am curious as to how to people have used this weapon tag:

‘Mounted’

Mounted to a forearm or shoulder rig, keeps hands free.

It’s just bizarre to me. Makes me thinks of a super battle-droid.

Does that mean it can be fired while mounted? Would it be integrated into an attire? What does this mean, besides easier storage and movement?

How has this tag been used in your games?

I have a player who would love to have an AI-operated gun mounted to their shoulder, and I have no idea what to think.

What do you think?

  1. Our engineer/ex-miner has a shoulder mounted laser. He can keep his attention on fixing things while the laser auto-fires for him (his Technocrat AI does the targeting)

  2. Well, what it says, really. You could have a weapon attached to your arm so your hand stays free, or you could go for the complete AI-assisted personal turret look with some kind of shoulder rig. Slave it to a target designator if you don’t want software picking targets, do it Predator style.

  3. The inspiration for that tag came from Gargoyles (specifically Xanatos’ Steel Clan suit) and Warhammer 40k (psi-impulse shoulder cannons being popular among warriors who wield melee weapons and/or relics).

And yes, as Toby Sennett mentions you could link it to a Scanner [Target] to give it automated targeting.
