So when he triggers his Moment of Truth, the Avengers show up?
Alternative: Star Lord is the Star, doing his star-banditry for the fame and rep?
Those both work for me! I was thinking how the inversion of human and alien jumbles the playbooks in general. Some other possibilities: Rocket: Delinquent, Groot: Legacy, Gamora: Protege (or Reformed), Drax: Bull (or Doomed).
If Groot is a legacy..he’d be the legacy of himself. 🙂 Id make Groot a Nova actually. When he pushes his power to the limits reality goes kinda nuts..
Id definitely agree that Gamora is a Reformed.
And Drax is decidedly a Bull.
Nebula if she was a PC would make a great Doomed though. Every thing she does brings her father one step closer to them, but his modifications give her crazy diverse powers.
Nebula could also be the transformed.
Also true. Thatd be a good option for her to, with how ‘unnatural she feels.’
Granted the biggest challenge is that these are all grown up super heroes, not teenagers with supervision and burden of adults pressing responsibility down on them.
Easy enough to alter for play. I made Groot a legacy because of his comic history, but I like “legacy of himself”
I peg Groot as a Newborn. Tough, naive, changes his look when he regenerates (Baby Groot!), and constantly learning and embodying lessons on what it means to be part of a family.
Edit: “I Am Groot” is totally a Lesson.
Groot could also be a Transformed, since some of his story involves him being accepted as part of the family.

Drax could also be transformed on an emotional level I think. Mantis is another interesting one, because in the movie she has mostly been kicking around with Ego, and doesn’t start with any other connections. I am not sure what she would get… the most Outsider of all maybe? Some variation of the Innocent?
My two quick thoughts about using Masks for adults. #1 – no one starts with Influence over the PCs automatically. #2 – start with all adult moves as basic moves. I’m not 100% on this second one. Maybe some but not all?
I suppose it becomes a question about what themes you want to explore. If it is a question of Family, as it is in Guardians of the Galaxy and Steven Universe, then I think the nature of the the relationships might demand that influence is institutional, rather than individual. Perhaps unlocking one adult move for free in exchange for giving such a structure influence over you?
I like that, Jason Cox
