Just wanted to chime in and say how excited I am for SCUP! Currently trying to dream up Roman or Japanese-inspired SCUP settings, and wondering how well a purely historical play would work.
Looking forward to the rest of the playbooks! The Spur and Beloved are calling to me.
Thanks, Lex! When you say “purely historical play” do you mean no magic? We have NOT hacked it that way, yet, but a couple of other folks were interested, as well. Off the top of my head, I would say that you could just drop the Arcane stat and probably drop the classes that are mostly built around arcane (The Adept and The Hex) and then switch up/drop a few of the moves for other classes that use arcane.
The other possibility is you leave arcane, drop The Adept and The Hex, but just make it pretty low magic and have a slightly elevated real world sort of thing.
As for the rest of the playbooks, we have versions that are largely put together and we’re hoping to release them soon. I’ve been moving to a new state this week, so I’m a wee bit slow, but we got internet in our new place, so hopefully once we’re a bit settled, I can get back to dropping stuff for folks to check out.
