Does anyone have any advice/rules etc for converting from cypher system (numenera, the strange etc) to a pbta game set?
I really like the look of predation but hate cypher system.
Thanks

You wouldn’t “convert” that stuff. You’d just use the source material for hazards/dangers/etc based on the specific game you’re playing.
With very little tweaking you could run a Dungeon World with technomagic-themed flavour put on the moves, and use Cyphers as bonus moves you can pick up and use disposably. Race and alignment would need to change, of course, though it ought be pretty simple to write simple moves based on Focuses and Descriptors to replace those with.
That’d do for having D&D style adventures in the setting, but another PbtA game might be better to explore the societies of the 9th World. With the ubiquitous technology I’m wondering if a hack of The Veil might be good, or my own Legacy.
Yeah, what Aaron Griffin said. You’re not really going to be able to “convert” anything over to PbtA the way you can with some other systems. Instead, you’ll want to strip the mechanics out of whatever source material you like and use the resulting “fluff” for inspiration.
Thanks. Has no-one done a “9th World” hack?
Chris Challacombe what do you intend to do differently? I ask because the Ninth World is a post apocalypse already. Curious if you tried running AW as is yet (adding what’s missing at the discussion layer to get you there)?
