Cyberpunk Tropes 001 // New Skin Hotel
I talk about cyberpunk themes and setting elements in True Skin (2012) (https://youtu.be/hoj4Qv7nrN8) and how you would make custom moves for The Sprawl to replicate that setting.
Here are the moves we made:
When you back up your consciousness with rmiii, roll+Cool. On a 7-9 choose one.
– The corp sells copies of your uploaded consciousness
– One of your memories is missing or altered
You will be burned into your new sleeve
When you buy a new sleeve outright, spend X Cred.
If you spend 2, you get something pre-owned and inadequate (choose or create a negative tag)
If you spend 5, you get something functional and mediocre
If you spend 10, you get something well-crafted (create a new tag)
If you spend 20, you get perfect body (create a custom move)
You are installed correctly, everything’s cool.
When rmiii installs your consciousness in a new sleeve of their choice, swap two of your stats and you are +owned. Roll+Synth. On a 7-9 choose one.
– The corp sells copies of your uploaded consciousness
– One of your memories is missing or altered
– Your new sleeve has limited functionality
– Your new sleeve looks Unreal/disgusting
