They’re on the border – the people themselves and the actions they take fit pretty solidly into Echoes, but their implications for the world are a bit more bizarre. I’ll have a think about whether they’re better as mirrors.
James Iles From my read, Ruins is basically a world we would recognize, whereas Echoes implied the world before was cyberpunk or outright crazy hypertechnological; I feel like each Mirrors Family shakes up the core assumptions of the world (aliens are real, artificial intelligence are real, intelligent animals are real), and I personally think the Order fits that mold much more.
Yeah, that’s a fair argument. Could be our world, could be a far future world, could be a science fantasy future are good thresholds.
