I wan to do a big shout-out to all my playtesters at #Metatopia2017 Thank you very much for your time and excitement! And for all your comments.
One of the main things I found out is that I’m gonna need to communicate better Edgar Clement’s universe (i.e. the setting), it’s weird for some people that as players you hunt, kill and sell angels…in pieces. So I need to put that fluff in the front (before my idea was to put it at the end of the book as an Appendix).
The other thing I found out is that there may be too much stuff happening—ruleswise. And this is mainly because I’m trying to bring into the game the stuff that character’s in Edgar’s universe/stories do, this being an adaptation of existing media. But I think I can streamline the playbooks and rules to reduce the load, by focusing in what I want the characters to do.
Anyways, thanks a lot again to my playtesters. And thanks also to everyone in this group for your interest, I’ll be posting here the ideas and progression of this streamlining process.
It was a true pleasure being a playtester! Can’t wait to see what comes next!!!
Maybe the easiest thing would be to have a comic book section as the front part, or maybe to Kickstart as comic book + RPG so you could rely on Edgar’s world standing on its own?
Eric Mersmann it was an honor having you. You all gave me a +1 Forward to my next iteration of the game =)
Sophie Lagace for sure I was considering some pages from Operación Bolivar (Edgar’s 1st graphic novel) as chapter openers. And yeah, there’re plans on Edgar’s side to publish his work in English.
Great pleasure to play the game and I hope to come back to it.
The pleasure was all ours! You’re always welcome to run playtest with us in The Gauntlet community. Gerrit Reininghaus and Maria Rivera, who also playtested at Metatopia, are also in the G+ Gauntlet community. Let us know, and we’ll set something up. Your setting is very evocative!
Christo Meid I will definitely hold you to that! Let me make the adjustments and I’ll contact you to see if we can organize an online playtest.
