So I have about a month left for prep. I’m starting it by repeatedly reading the MC section of the book. I decided to work on the principle “ASk questions that generate new ideas and build upon them”.
I emailed each of my characters one, simple question (different for each character).
So far I am loving the responses.
MC: What childhood friend do you think about most often?
Kylara: My best friend and twin brother Jaysan. He was taken by the Shadow and is part of the reason I fight it. I am still hoping that some day we might find a cure for those the Shadow has taken. I feel that Jaysan is still alive, and if we ever find a way to take a soul back from the darkness, I will search to the ends of the earth to find him. The flip side is that one of my greatest fears is that I will come to face him before we have that cure.
Awesome! It sounds like this is going to get a good campaign!
My favorite tool, re: asking questions, is the map. It’s fun having players add notes about clan boundaries or special places and having those be relevant details that come up during the campaign
Yeah, I am setting up a Roll20 page and I had a poster sized map printed out for the table. I’m making sure the campaign has an online presence so the players can stay more engaged between sessions. Hopefully the Obsidian Portal site will be up soon. 🙂
