Examples of Advancing Let it Out?

My family and I have resurrected our old WoD city to play in Urban Shadows. I can’t wait!

Our Oracle took Conduit, and we thought it sounded neat, but not entirely sure how it’s meant to work. It seems like (after a lot of googling the dark recesses of the ‘net) that in this Oracle’s presence, you can Advance a Let it Out roll if it hits 12+.

OK, but after reading the description of advancing Let it Out, I’m not real sure how it’s suppose to work. I won’t have a problem guessing, winging it, doing whatever seems fun and interesting.

But since we don’t live in a vacuum I would be super interested in if anybody has ever gotten into this situation and what they decided to do. Anyone? Beuller?

  1. Once I had a Werewolf who hit a 12+ on Let It Out in the presence of an Oracle who had Conduit. Since he was shifting up into his wolf form and didn’t already have Sun & Moon, I just gave him that move.

Another time, a Vamp hit a 12+ in the presence of that same Oracle. I wrote a custom move for her to be able to read people’s thoughts from that point forward. 😀

    Helpful?

  2. Our Oracle described using his smartphone as a focus for his divination powers. He once Let It Out to attempt to reach out to a colleague in Power whom he had accidentally left trapped in a void between worlds (along with about a dozen other people). He rolled over 12, and we decided that not only could he pull her through back to his own world through the phone connection, but he could make the power permanent and save the rest of the stranded people that way, all at once. It was very handy!

  3. Awesome. I tend to play up a little body horror with Conduit, so anything that makes the players feel like their powers might be getting a little bit beyond their control works for me…

  4. I had a Spectre hit an Advanced Let It Out and Andrew Medeiros came up with a good move in this community somewhere. Something about using “existential ennui” to cause harm
