Greetings all.

Greetings all.

Greetings all.

Had my first crack at making a custom playbook based on a weird joke/request from a player. Its sort of an alternate take on the professional, someone a little higher up on the food chain than the typical boots-on-ground archetype that professional playbook references.

Just thought I’d share for any 30 Rock fans or for folks looking for a more hands-off, big picture, behinds the scenes kind of player option.

Let me know what yall think!

  1. Interesting. Some notes: The “not a farmer” move seems to be too game-able; maybe it could be more specific/restrictive?

I think I have a bit of an issue with the basic conceit of the Playbook – are Execs not more or less defined as those people who do not get their hands dirty, as somebody who can always send someone else to take bodily risks?

  2. Felix Girke Noted about the mechanics of farmer, will reconsider that move.

And as far as the archetype, I made it fairly jokey, but I also wanted it to kind of fit someone like The Smoking Man from the X-Files. This was shaped by a pretty specific need created from the story at our table. You’re absolutely right that this person would likely sit in a boardroom being manipulative, but when the ish hits the fan in the X-Files even the Cancer Man has to hit the field. We also play pretty infrequently, so I didn’t worry too much about narrative longevity for this playbook.

Your point is highly warranted though, so I’m not sure I’d recommend it for every situation. So keepers beware! It’d probably be best to reskin the professional slightly for something like this playbook should a player show interest.

    Thanks for the feedback!
