Hey I’m thinking of running this for my roommate. Is it possible to play with just one hunter and a GM or is a group needed?

Definitely better with a group, and you’ll obviously have to scale the enemy somehow, but I think it would still be fun. Give the hunter locals to assist, maybe start with some Advanced Moves, weaken the monster, that kind of thing.
You can do it with just your roommate. It will have some great back-and-forth. Your ideal group is 3-5 people anyway.
I have written a few mystery starters that can be used as a one player module: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7cav44145d9ZEx2SzdZLUVnRjg, https://drive.google.com/open?id=1jkALItkx8LX8qiwIvOlHcK0ZiSROBYSk andhttps://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7cav44145d9MWt2TWh0ak5aR0U

One on one works fine, you’ll just miss out on “between hunter” banter and roleplaying.
Mark Tygart bites inflict one harm, but the mist knocks a hunter out for the night… So, does the revenant get to feed on the hunter for free for the rest of the night if uninterrupted?
Jeff Wood The revenant only feeds so much from a single victim per night (as per the countdown). This allows the player to survive a bad encounter and matches the base myth (used to explain sickness). As it states in the mystery starter in “tracking” it will only drain half of the players vitality in the first encounter and try to return another night for the rest.
Mark Tygart absolutely, I saw the limit, it was just a question about saves and such as the revenant feeds… Or if it was wake up and half your points are consumed.
Jeff Wood If you fail you wake up with half your points consumed was my idea, but maybe you can improve on it..
Mark Tygart Nope, that’s fine as is … to wake up having been chewed on invokes enough horror for me. Thank you sir.
