The hood is all about regular joes “trying to pick up the crumbs that fall down from the big boys”… has anyone thought about writing a version [or some other apocalypse world game] where you play those big boys?

  1. Alfred Rudzki  well you don’t inherently play the leaders of the Cartel, though you can probably work your way up in the fiction. Playbooks include druglords, hitmen, “cooks”, and more. Important people in the Cartel but not the biggest of the big boys.

  2. I will have to check it out!  reading thorough the last chapter of Hood, his design goal is very much “ordinary people trying to get by and try to hit it big” is awesome. your not necessarily career criminals.  are you career criminals in Cartel?

I guess I gotta add it to the stack!

  3. It depends, some characters are career criminals (Siciaro, Mid-Tier druglord, drug cook) some aren’t (corrupt police, spouse) some are inbetween (Falcon / Runner). I got more of a Breaking Bad vibe from it.

If you like to take a look the ash can version is at $5 at DTRPGs
