Anyone running or interested in running an AW game via email (would be happy with DW or any hack too).

Anyone running or interested in running an AW game via email (would be happy with DW or any hack too). I’m desperate to do some more roleplay but as the mother of a demanding 1 year old finding time for hangouts would be pretty impossible!

  1. Hi. I’ve been thinking it might be fun to run an email game. I’ve run several AW (and PbtA hacks) face to face, but never by email so it would be a new format for me. Do you have any other players? Any thoughts as to what kind of game, what frequency/pace of play? I too have young kids, so hangouts are not an option either 🙂 but with email you can reply at your leisure so could work I guess 🙂

  2. Hi I just thought I’d chime in.

I regularly play PbF(play by post) on http://rpggeek.com/

they have the ability to roll virtual dice in their forums and plenty of players if you needed more to play. The people there are friendly and really helpful if your new or just have a question.

  3. If anyone is running I’d be interested in playing, by post or by email. I’ve got too much stuff to run on my plate but I have room for more playing.

  4. I’ll again post that rpggeek.com will soon be having its annual newbie initiative, where play by post games will be run for new users. I can’t promise that apocalypse world will be available but there should be plenty to choose from. I’m planning to run a bit of Numenera. You can also register there and leave a post asking if anyone would run a game.

It maybe a bit before it starts since they only just put out the call for GMs.

  5. I’m not personally a fan of playing by forum (unless it’s private) as I don’t like the idea of the world at large reading the game…

If we’re interested in doing this I’d personally prefer either email/Google docs or a private forum. Open to suggestions.

In this thread we’ve now accumulated about 4-5 potential players. Shall we give it a go?

I’ve run and played a lot of AW recently, but only played a small amount of DW, so my preference would be for DW. I’m happy to run, but if some one else has a strong desire to, equally happy to play.

Thoughts? Shall we kick something off? Fran Thomson this was your initial idea 🙂 any thoughts from you?

  6. DW sounds great – have only played AW so something different would be good, and I definitely prefer the email idea as I can access email easily by phone during breaks at work (although forgive any typos caused by auto-complete). Or I guess a g+ community might work.

  7. I’m in London, so also GMT 🙂 sounds like we’ve got a good UK thing going on here!

OK. I’m going to PM my email address to you folks in this thread who have expressed an interest in this idea. If you want to then send me your emails, we can sort this out in a joint email thread 🙂 cool?

( Alex Prinz, thanks for the info on rpggeek.com, but it doesn’t sound like we’ll be using that. Tip appreciated nonetheless. You didn’t mention wanting in on the game, so I’ll leave you off, unless you do want to join? Cheers)
