What would an Operator have to do to get extra Juggling from things in the fiction (so not from an advancement or the special move). Hire someone as a Secretary (and pay them extra)? What else can you think of?

  1. Just like it says on page 229, add a new gig, get +1 juggling. Your juggling is always the same number as your gigs (not including obligation gigs). You might have to hire a bigger crew in order to actually fulfill the bodyguarding gig, sure. But if Cobra says yes and you have guys to fill shifts, sounds good to me.

  2. I think gigs are first the specialties and complications that are potentially part of the Operator’s life. Then juggling is typically half that, spent on those gigs that the Operator decides to actually work… extract something from… in the appropriate moment.

So… work two at the session start as the between session Moonlighting use, work them again during some downtime between the scene at the market and the nightclub… work them again the next morning after the breakfast scene in the cantina… and one more time that afternoon while waiting for a delivery in the Philips Cafe just outside the Hardhold.

Juggling just says you can’t work more than about half of them at a time… which sets up a decision of what risks you want to take, with worked and unworked gigs.

    My question is

Can a new obligation gig be taken, and to what benefit?

Looking at it through a gamist lens,

it would appear one obligation gig is worth 3 paying gigs and 2 juggling. Maybe just 2 and 1 would be good enough for extra obligations though.

    So… maybe…

Obligation Gig, Secretarial Relations. (Organized, Prompt, and Studious/Overwhelmed, Messy, and Underappreciated or Jealous, Inattentive, and in a Frenzy)

Obligation Gig, Debt to Workers. (Satisfied Employees/Bonuses Due or Compensations Demanded or Inciting Union Threats)

Obligation Gig, Retainer Fealty. (Protected and Happy/Dissatisfied and Violent.)

Obligation Gig, Filial Responsibility. (Distant and Gracious/Demanding of Duties)

Obligation Gig, Progenal Ties. (Healthy and Self Maintained/Incessantly Ailing and Heartbreakingly Lonely)

Obligation Gig, Parental Strings. (Well Fed and Complacent/Interfering and Destructive)

Obligation Gig, Connubial Attachments. (Appreciative, Pacified, and Complacent/Dissatisfied, Savage, and Clingy)
