So, im into Star Wars Edge of the Empire RPG, but the system seems a bit too complicated…I know that there are several SW hacks out there, which, preferably a more action oriented one, could you recommend?

  1. I, personally, love Star Wars World by Andrew Medeiros. I’ve had solid success playing that one – a Scoundrel, a Gearhead, and a Jedi fleeing a dragnet of Star Destroyers and TIEs, all commanded by the promoted Clone Trooper who served under the Jedi during the war…

It’s built on Apocalypse World, so its very cinematic, empowers individual characters nicely, and cares about relationships the way AW does. It handles action well. It works better than the SW hacks built on Dungeon World, in my opinion.

  2. Have you actually played Edge of the Empire? Because it looked complicated to me, too, until I actually tried it out…now I actually think it’s one of the best action-oriented RPG systems I’ve ever played.

However, if it’s seriously not your thing, I’d just go back to the old d6 system, still being avidly supported by fans. If you look up “West End Games Star Wars” you’ll find it.

  3. Alfred Rudzki thx, ill try that one!

… And for Fate and EotE: too much Meta and too many dice to think of. But yeah, i might give the latter a chance, but wasnt too happy with dice pool systems before.
