  1. I just bought the AW PDF last week, so my timing is a little off for max savings but I am ok with that. Now I get to see all the other books before I get hard copies.

  2. Adam McConnaughey, 1st ed is OOP, and has been for a few months. We did not think it was ethical to be working on a second edition that we expect to have in print in few more months and still be selling 1st edition in hard copy.

  3. I wouldn’t have any issues buying a POD hard copy of the 1st ed. I see the ethical issue there, however for myself, if you disclose the closeness of 2nd ed and someone still wants to get a hard copy, I think you are in the clear.

  4. Sure, but there’s also our costs for printing new print runs of a book we are revising. Adding it all up, we made the choice to go to PDFs of 1st ed until the release of the 2nd ed in print. It’s super nice that folks still want to get 1st ed!

  5. Aaron Griffin I have used Lulu before, but only with products that other people have setup. I was not sure if I would be allowed to print myself a copy or not.

  6. You can print anything you want for personal use 🙂

This is especially okay if there is no physical medium for sale, but might be considered rude if they book is for sale. In the end, it will almost always cost more to print a single book than a batch of them.

I’ve used http://www.thebookpatch.com/PrintOnDemand before with good results, but I think printing AW is gonna be $15-$20 or so
