My Brain: I made a thing!
Me: Not now Brain.
My Brain: I made a thing!
Me: Brain, you’re supposed to be doing the other thing!
My Brain: I made a thing!
Me: Brain! Stop it! Do the things I told you to! Stop doing your own thing!

My Brain: I MADE A THING!
Anyway, here is the thing my brain made while I was trying to get it to do other things: it’s part of a serial supplement for Dungeon World that describes a sci-fi setting and the adventurers who explore it. I don’t think it’s all that bad, but would appreciate feedback. There are potentially seven more of these to come.

The backstory remains the same, the other supplements in the range merely add more detail & perspective.
For example, the next one being prepared is concerned with the technology that supports & maintains the Continent Adrift and a playbook that exploits it.
That’s really cool. Though I question the word “Affiliation”.
As If what about ‘Attitude’? Or ‘Stance’?
Both are better. 🙂
Very neat! I love the setting, and look forward to the rest of the playbooks. I think the aliens could be made a) less monolithic in character b) more complex culturally and c) better for PC interactions at the table. If a player feels compelled by their race to be bossy and demanding, or paranoid and reclusive, they’re forced to choose between being a healthy member of the group or living up to the setting’s description of their racial identity. Needs work. But I’m excited to read more!
I always try to have two projects going: when I sit down, there’s always one that I want to work on less than the other, so doing the other one feels like an escape. It’s a silly brain trick, but it makes me way more productive overall.
