Hi all,
Been playing this system for a few weeks now and I only now realised that the spellslinger isn’t explained in terms of bases and effects. E.g. one of our party members is a spellslinger and has the base magic missile but applies 4 different effects to it. This sounds a little broken, but we’re unsure of the mechanics so we’re unsure what to do. Any suggestions/information on this topic?
Thanks
Well, that means the character can only do one thing, but very powerfully. If that’s how they want to go, it seems fine to me.
Personally, I’d take at least a couple of bases to have more flexibility.
How does he already have 4 effects? A starting character would only be able to have a base and 2 effects. You can take one more Combat Magic pick in the basic Improvements and then a second one in Advanced Improvements.
I’ve also noticed the following line; “Your combat spells can combine any of your base spells with any of your effects.” doesn’t clarify if any means all. Personally I’d read that you can pick one base and one effect per attack, not one base and all effects you want. Michael, what was the intent there?
Whenever a rule is left somewhat ambiguous, like this one, the intent is that each group interprets it to make sense for this particular character and this particular game.
