Oh, quick question! For the Flake’s “Suspicious Mind” move… does that work on Monsters? I know Manipulate Someone doesn’t work on Monsters (unless you have Dark Negotiator)… but can a Flake see if a vampire or werewolf is lying to them?
Oh, quick question!
Oh, quick question!
I always thought it works even with Monsters, but let’s ask Michael Sands.
Daniele Di Rubbo That’s kind of what I assumed since it’s a playbook move and not a general hunter move. But I wanted to make sure because I’ll take the chance to lie to him if I can (maybe… if it’s good for moving the story).
I would probably do two things: 1) at first contact, the ability could work as a monster detector – “oh, you cannot actually tell whether the guys is lying; that’s new”; and 2) with repeated contact, if!, I’d either simply give him the ability, or make up a fun custom move.
Felix Girke That’s a cool way to work it! So if I wanted to lie to him through a monster, then it could work as a monster detector. Still a plus for him!
Consider you can understand if a monster is lying to you by the investigate move (as you can with minions and bystanders). What you can’t do is to persuade monsters to do what you want (manipulate someone move). That’s why I said in my opinion Suspicious Mind does work with Monsters too.
Yes, it works on monsters.
