First edition is very dark and probably too dark to be playable. I’d recommend the 2nd edition for a more playable version.
My MotW campaign runs a little dark anyway so lots of good bad guys and story ideas here. Not sure if I’ll play any sessions with this actual system.
I didn’t know there was a 2nd edition, thank you! I love 1st edition, although yes, it is goddamn dark. I don’t have a problem with dark, but it’s not universally usable.
Makes you think a “kids version” (“Stranger Things”) of MotW might be a good idea…
Yes, the 2nd edition is much more playable. It’s lost a bit of the harsh darkness in the new edition. Still, I find it well suited for playing.
I think it is suitable for combination with another game, i.e. children detectives (Bubblegumshoe) or MotW.
