Which one is the monster?

Which one is the monster?

Which one is the monster? The Necronomicon or Keeper in the Woods? Because from my understanding, Deadites are definitely minions.

Keep in mind I’m pretty new to the Apocalypse Engine and haven’t played or ran a Monster of the Week game before.

How does a Evil Dead (Team concept: group of traumatized losers lead by a Chosen One forced to reunite to fight deadites) table top RPG ran with Monster of the Week (Apocalypse World Engine) sound to you? Would you be interested in trying out a session 0 on a Saturday night (EST/GMT-5) on Google Hangouts?

  1. It’s like Buffy. There’s the Big Bad Boss in a season, but the evil to hunt changes from one chapter to another. The same here. The book and the keeper are a long shot problem. But in each episode the problem would be a deadite, a cult around the necronomicon or your evil twin leading an army of darkness

  2. During a season one of your players maybe makes a great enemy and maybe, at the end of the season and defeated the actual villain, would be the next. In the powered by the Apocalypse games try to be loose in the details to insert the crazy ideas of your players.

In other game I was running a pulp heroes vs supernatural Nazis (I’m a cliché boy). One of the players said that the Nazi would be a mythos cultist. It wasn’t… until then. The villain of the next season was Nyarlathotep. It wasn’t in my agenda, but, hey, if my players give me lemons, I make the life of their PCs a thrilling adventure with a pleasant flavor of lemonade XD
