Sarif Industries in The Sprawl?
So, has anyone added some/all of the augments from the last two Deus Ex games? Many (if not most) would be extremely rare or one-of-a-kind, but I know a player who’d love a Glass Shield. 😉

I don’t think anyone has developed it as of yet, but their is a Stealth Suit, and converting into into cyberware would not be hard.
The Deus Ex games are on my “to-play” list, but it might be a while before I get to them, so this is a perfect job for a fan project.
I’m on my 5th play through of DE:MD (trophy hunting, ho!). It’s why I bought The Sprawl! Well, besides The Sprawl being the only game to scratch my cyberpunk itch since, well, Cyberpunk. 😉
Once I feel solid enough to tackle it, I’ll probably grab more than a few bits from those games. I agree with Riley that the Glass Shield and such would be prototypes or just super-rare and secret. The Titan augment would be crazy! What would the tag be? “Invulnerable”? 🙂 There’d have to be a balance. Maybe a “Drained” or “Depleted” tag? Again, I need more experience with the game, but I’m more than happy to help work on some hacks with an expert Sprawler.
At the very least, I’m stealing the major corporations whole cloth, as well as the Dvali.
You’d probably want some move which is rolled before engagement and grants limited hold, spending which allows you to be a badass. Hold is definitely not gonna last the whole battle, giving player limited resource to spend or not when shit goes down
That’s a great idea! Any suggestions as to which move would generate hold for crazy super-cybernetics? I’ll look under custom moves myself to see if that’s a good route to go. Being beyond bleeding edge, I can see them being either unreliable or difficult to get used to (depending on the source of installation), which might also be a factor.
In any case, they’re great plot hooks and tempting morsels. Hell, the first mission in Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a job to retrieve the Typhoon explosive system. Seems very Sprawly to me!
A good negative quality for SOTA cyber might be something like “Hangar Queen”. The cyber needs constant maintenance and pre and post-operation checks. Be like Section 8 having to go in for post-operation maintenance in GitS.
If the character doesn’t (or can’t) then negative qualities like unreliable, damaging, etc start showing up.
Hamish Cameron It certainly does…I’ll have to get started. I definitely LOOOOVE the Deus Ex universe and have been really enjoying the portrayal of augmentation and cyberware beginning to make its appearances more and more in a regular life and the socio-political consequences as a result.
Immediately, for the uses of Deus Ex style cyberware and its capabilities, not withstanding any existing tags that are already listed in the games. One could create a new move like “Activate Augmentation” and base it on a Hold system like Ганс Андроид was saying and allow the use of the augmentation to be used during select moments of a scene as up to the player discretion.
I really like the idea I have for my Blades in the Dark cyberpunk adaptation and adding in a “System Strain” clock or something like that that would fill up during strenuous use of the augmentation. But I’m not quite sure how I would implement that completely into an Apocalypse World based game.
