With Far Beyond Humanity (the aliens and powers book), it definitely could do Fading Suns.
I was just working on a writeup to do fading suns. So far the biggest issue I’m having is how to break up the factions, there’s so many that you almost need to just define a subset that will be important to your game & roll the other ones up into groupings like “merchant league” or leave them out entirely.
Here’s what I’ve got so far, it’s still pretty vague but should be usable with knowledge of the setting and FBH. Let me know what you think.

That does look good. I ordered the pdf and working my way thru it. I may borrow some of your ideas and let you know how it works. It may be a while until I can get a group together though.
If I managed to get some people to try it out I’ll update y’all. I’ve always loved the fading suns setting but I never got a chance to run it and these days I don’t have the attention span to run anything that isn’t rules light.
This is also a setting where the group chargen rules can really help.
