Quick question about Navigation that game up in our session tonight. When a player uses it to create a Pleasant journey, does everyone get a +2 to their cramped quarters roll or just the Navigator.

Everyone who embraces the pleasant travel, especially depending on how the Navigator chooses to provide it (scenic route, good provisions, freshly cleaned quarters, entertainment, etc). Some people are never happy. Those ones don’t get the + 2 🙂
that fits with how I interpreted it. Not major and we just rolled on, but figured it was worth asking for next time. It led to some amazing interaction. Nice job on adding that to the rules.
🙂
I’d love to hear about the situation, if you feel like writing it up.
I thought it would be more of a function of the character type called the Steward in Traveller, some kind of student of Hotel Management of the future. The ideal archetypal characters for Stewards are the characters from The Love Boat (Julie the chipper Cruise Director, and of course Isaac the barman). It makes the difference between a fun-filled use of time and a Soviet-style hell-cruise where characters are in a bare room with one table and one deck of cards on it.
Pierre Savoie well spotted, the Navigator was indeed very much inspired by the Steward skill from Traveller.
> Some people are never happy …
We call those people, “My ex” 😉
