Looking for some help adapting this into a move … hitting a writer’s wall.

“Mages of this path are often hypersensitive to the brevity of life and understand just how little time they have to gain the transformative secrets they crave. They often become obsessive about their studies, sleeping only a few hours each night to leave enough time for their research.”

  1. Once per session, whenever you study all night, roll+????

On a 10+, choose one, on a 7-9 all 2 (or any number you as a developer feel good with)

    * You manage to _________ (add wanted effect)

    * You fell asleep and wake up late

    * You are dead tired, gain -1ongoing

    * You catch some insomnia, until you succeed, sleeping becomes Act Under Fire

On a miss, you fail and GM either choose chooses one or makes a hard move.

  2. I like Lauri’s interpretation of the quote…

I would add “You manage to __ (add effect or discover X knowledge)

Considering how often in our current game Maria, Melody, Alastriel have scurried off to try and uncover the needed information.

I’d Almost say, make “You manage to _ (add effect or knowledge)

Just straight up, since they spent the whole night studying. Only on a success though.

    On a 10+ choose one, etc…

On a 7-9 choose 2 or X, etc… Add in the effect isn’t perfect, or the knowledge there although scarce or insufficient.

  3. I saw what you posted as a comment and responded. Also Anton, for Mage, I did the traits a bit differently. I gave the Orders a bonus, but the Paths get the penalty side of things. I figured it would work best this way considering that the idea of switching the order Orders and Paths may be taken. Plus it helps to scale the level of power that the paths seem to have in some cases.
