I have a question regarding the Hunter’s custom weapons.

I have a question regarding the Hunter’s custom weapons. One of the add-ons that can be picked for hand weapons is “Enchanted” which gives the “anchored” tag, but I’m not entirely sure what that means. It seems similar to Cold Iron/Blessed/Silvered, but is not mentioned together with them in the rulebook. In fact, the Hunter playbook is the only place where the tag is mentioned.

Thanks!

  1. I’m not Andrew Medeiros but I would say that an “anchored” weapon is always available. I would think of it like “Katana-space” or Marvel’s version of Mjolnir where it flies back to the owner after being thrown. That weapon is simply always available including when you’ve been stripped of all equipment.

  2. The idea was that it’s anchored to you mystically, whether you’re spirit-bound to the weapon or it does in fact come to you when called, it’s all up to you and the player. It’s vague, but it’s meant to be so that it allows for unique interpretations.

In a Boston-based US game, our Fae was a smith who created enchanted weapons for all of us out of magical metal and ectoplasm. We called them ghost-blades and we could summon them from their weapon-rack in his apartment into our hands from anywhere in the world. It also acted as a danger warning for him since he’d know we were in trouble if a weapon suddenly disappeared. 😀

  3. I will!

As of right now, I know he’s a Russian member of a Hunter organization. His body has been strengthened and enhanced through rituals that have left him covered in scars (that tend to bleed when he pushes himself to the limit). I wanted my answer to the “What terrible thing have you done to yourself to help even the playing field?” question to truly affect how other characters would see him.

His weapons are a shotgun and pistol (called “Brátec” (“Brother”) and “Bratíška” (“Little Brother”) respectively), as well as an enchanted sword that extends into a scythe (sort of like Bloodborne’s Burial Blade).

I’m really looking forward to playing him, as he came about as a burst of inspiration when I thought I’d run out of ideas for interesting US characters!
