Hi ! I really liked all of the archetypes, especially the Immortal. But I also feel somthing lacking in this one to reflect the lack of consequence/familarity the caracter have toward death. Maybe a move ? From the top of my head, a very rough, very unablance exemple of what I mean :
The easy way out : when attempting to Escape you can always commit suicide in a dramatic manner to automatically succeed. When you come back to life mark off a Scar.
Again just an idea, love your work anyway !
(PS : sorry for any eventual misphrases English isn’t my natural language)
Interesting idea, but dying and escaping seem like opposing fictional states. What you are describing seems true of the Immortal without a new move. If you die rather than escape, you come back – without a scar. I like the basic idea though. Maybe it could be to allow others to escape, or accomplish something else awesome.
I am not a fan of any mechanic to reward suicide, but I see where you are coming from.
If they are immortal, they may frequently take unreasonable risks against impossible odds, because they know they are not going to die. A move that favors risk-taking that is written with a different emphasis than the Wolf’s Reckless could be interesting.
I have seen a Chosen in MH with the Ghoul’s Short Rest for the Wicked get into a crazy gun battle then throw herself off a bridge to get away. There are more options when you don’t fear death.
I don’t like the escape by suicide, but I do like it to fain death.
I agree that suicide might have been a bad exemple to start with, but it was mainly to center the idea over the death/revive mechanic. The reckless move might indeed give a good basis.
Yeah…I do not want to go there. The Immortal was never about being that distant to death, since it is their pathway to corruption. The kind of Immortal who gets so used to dying that it stops bothering them is the kind who just Retired from a corruption advance. =)
That’s why I added in Dauntless. They don’t suffer from the same fears that others do so they can keep their cool when faced with mortal danger because it is not as big a deal to them.
I had not think of it this way, my bad ^^” Thanks for the answer !
No no, not your bad at all. You had a great question. We’re here to answer your questions and listen to your feedback. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It means a lot to us.
Interesting! Thank you for the feedback. I think the question here is whether or not the current move covers it. I think Andrew Medeiros might have more thoughts. 😀
