Hi everyone,
A friend of mine is interested in running a WiP game based on the Savage Worlds scenario Necessary Evil, in which all PCs are villains in a world where invading aliens have killed all the heroes. This set up changes some of the assumptions of WiP, and I’m thinking we’ll need to come up with an alternate move for recovery than fitting in. Has anyone run games with a premise other than the one laid out in the book? Are there any other moves or rules you can point out that need to be modified? Thanks!
Sounds pretty cool dude, but Villains don’t have to be so different than the good guys. It’s an alternate viewpoint – perhaps they do fit in as well, just differently. What were you guys thinking they would do instead?
I like where you’re thinking, but if the world has already been taken over by space jerks, Fitting In can be important – don’t want them sending an alien strike team when you’re having your morning coffee with your roommate.
Maybe the move is Regroup, and instead focuses on keeping your resistance cell together?
Keep in mind that a part of the point of the Fit In move is that it’s NOT retreating to a safe place, there can still very much be danger wherever you go – even on a partial success. so maybe keep that in mind when you’re making your custom move.
