One of the players in my Watch campaign, Lu Quade, drew this cool fan art from tonight’s session. Here’s the explanation…

“I doodled this sword – the sword I took from my friend Papho, after I accidentally struck them down in the confusion of a fight with The Shadow. The sword was lovingly engraved by Papho with symbolic representations of those they were close to in The Watch – including myself… I was unworthy to carry it, and it shattered the first time I tried to use it. I returned to their grave and buried it with Papho: reclaiming my own sword. A cursed blade – bound to see me die in battle – hopefully heroically…”

  1. They must have been playing an Eagle, because that is glorious!

(Seriously, that’s awesome! Can I take this and use it in my personal game? I’m going to Laminate a card so I can hand it to my players. On one side will be the image, on the other your story. The first time I hand it over they will have to read it out loud. This will prime them for the right sort of flavor.)

  2. Hey. No worries 🙂 Lets say this is me officially releasing that sword doodle and the accompanying text into the public domain! Hope your game’s great Jerry Ozbun

  3. I like it Jerry Ozbun 🙂 I would say add a ‘This’ to the start – so it begins – “This is the sword I took…” Also, totally put Lomo of Clan Sharn instead of Lu, WATCH player. I also vote for the Viner hand font. I also could email you the font of my own handwriting that I used for the writing with the sword if you want it to match – I think it has a clumsy real person sort of a look to it! hehe 😉
