So what tools, if any, does Creative to emphasize the strength and skill of NPWs, besides narration when Creative has it? I’m still kinda new to * Worlds and I know I’m supposed to trust the players to carry their side of the conversation but…I don’t know. It feels weird, not having a veto. Or at least an explicit one, unless I missed it.

Related question, how do you guys generally play up the differences between the skills of your NPWs? How do you narrate your main eventers vs your curtain jerkers? I’m curious!

  1. Good questions!

I pretty much just use description, but I usually fill in some context that everyone’s wrestler “would know” when I introduce a NPW – like “Bill Blast, he’s been jerking the curtain around here for 10 years, but he’s always ready to give someone a ride to the next show, helps out a lot backstage too”

Booking NPWs to win matches is a pretty strong way to signal their place in the hierarchy, also having them hold titles.

In terms of internally to a match, I guess I’ve never thought of it like Creative is lacking something. It’s more like, Creative is unconstrained in narrating what the NPWs do (past playing according to your principles, etc), while the players have to use the dice to back up their stuff. You can narrate your NPWs doing cool-as-shit stuff, being terrifying, cheating to win, getting the ref on their side, running-in to interfere, all that stuff, you just don’t have to roll for it!

  2. I have three words for each NPW that describes their wrestling style, their promo style and their backstage style. It’s tech from other *W games, but it works.
