I got you
I’m still hoping he becomes the world’s best NXT coach.
I’m trying to figure out whether there’s ever really been someone like Bryan in the WWE. So many things coming together at the same time – the independent scene gaining momentum after the fall of WCW and the botched promise of TNA, the increasing connection of Japanese wrestling with hardcore wrestling fans with more footage than ever available, the feeling of staleness in WWE’s product with its near-monopoly of the business – all finding their expression in one man. I hope he finds a way to continue to engage in a business that he clearly loves so much, should he want to continue being part of it. If he wants to retire to a farm and grow superfoods and raise a family, I hope he does that. I’d miss him – I have missed him – but he doesn’t owe anyone anything. He’s already given of his body in ridiculous ways. How could we ask for anything more than what he’s given us? I want him to be happy, for all the happiness he’s given us.
Ian Williams, great article, bro. I mean that in my most affectionate, Mojo Rowley-channeling way. I’m impressed to see how much mainstream traction this is getting. I’m glad to have people like you explaining to the masses why Bryan mattered so eloquently.
