So I dedicate RPG playtime with my eight-year-old every weekend to help his brain, critical thinking, and creative prowess. He’s been bored with D&D lately, so I sat him down for a “session 0.” We identified that he didn’t want to play fantasy or sci-fi, but that he wanted modern day with monsters. So I’m thinking PERFECT! I bring out MoTW. And he then says he only wants to play gremlins (i.e. Spielberg). I told him we will definitely play gremlins, and whatever monsters ongoing. He said, “No! Not like Scooby Doo with different monsters every week. Only gremlins.” I told him I’m not running 52 weeks of gremlins. He got mad. We’re still discussing.
Sigh.
