Just posted this up on The Sprawl community, but if anyone plays that game (and you should), the Roll20 Character sheet I made for it has been approved, and you can now get a sweet Sprawl sheet from the dropdown when you make a new Roll20 game.
Heyyo!
Heyyo! Just noticed and want to share here, that if anyone decides to play on Roll20, the character sheet I put together has been approved, and is available on the sheets dropdown when you make a new Roll20 game.
Note: I need to add inputs for Personal Directives and [intel] / [gear], as I missed those somehow on first pass, but I am going to add today, which means they should be public before the weekend.
Ran my first game last night! It went really well.
Ran my first game last night! It went really well.
Only had two players because the other two dropped out. But that was okay, because making characters took us a little longer than I thought it would.
The Mission I outlined was probably a little intense for first session with only two players. They emerged bruised and bloody, but successful.
The PC’s were an Infiltrator and a Fixer.
Most things went smoothly, but I would be interested in a couple rulings / opinions.
Would you let the players gain an XP for staking 3 cred on the mission, if they have the ‘Financial” directive? It seems to fulfill the directive in a very literal way, but doesn’t offer much in the way of story growth. Also could be a way to too-easily milk XP.
This might just come down to style, but how often would you let an Infiltrator roll for Covert Entry? My players were moving back and forth through this apartment complex, and it seems like he rolled every time they went into a new area or encountered security? Is that legit? Again, seems like it could be milked for a bunch of [gear] or easy ways to take down guards with hold.
What are some easy ways to handle it when the Fixer’s jobs are disasters? My fixer failed the roll last night for his gigs. A lot of them seem almost like fodder for complete missions, but seeing as it happens, potentially more than one, every session, I need to figure out ways to incorporate them into the existing session and flow.
Anyway, we had an awesome time! I also almost killed both of them with a shotgun-toting security drone.

I’m wondering about when to bring in certain directives, especially those that might reference people and organizations outside the group, like Network, Intimate, or Protective, among others.
A lot of the structure of The Sprawl seems to be designed to encourage a tight focus on the mission at hand, with some relatively quick legwork beforehand.
Is it fair game to come at the PC’s with their chosen obligations as moves during the legwork phase, when it’ll draw them away from the main group?
Related question, does any part of a session take place outside of the relatively rigid mission structure? If players wanted to stock up on supplies, or chase down personal stuff from their directives before they “get the job”, how would you run that?
Hey everyone!
Hey everyone! I am going to be running The Sprawl for some friends on Roll20 this Sunday, and I wanted a proper character sheet, so I made one. Figured I would share it here. Hopefully it will get added to the official Roll20 repo soon, but for now you can find it here:

If the GM has a paid roll20 account, they can copy the HTML and CSS code straight into the custom character sheet options on Roll20, and you’ll have working sheets for The Sprawl.
These are really simple, just buttons to roll your stats and some areas where you can paste in moves, cyberwear, contacts, etc. I tested the rolls and they seem to be working fine, but if anyone uses them and has a problem, let me know! They look like this:
Two questions about moves!
Two questions about moves!
1. It looks like all of the origins have one skill that adds +1 to a stat. As this us the only place where your stats can go up, and it is at creation, why would you take one of the other Origin skills? The +1 seems like the obvious choice. Has anyone gone through character creation and had someone take something else?
2. The “Authority” skill under Military seems to invite some abuse. Where would you draw the line for players trying to use it to command their enemies, etc?
Just got the PDF! Looking forward to running the game. Can we put rules questions here?

I am a little confused about harm and healing. First, how does Patch Up interact with Critical injuries? The critical injury description on page 60 says they can be “stabilized by patch up,” but the Patch Up move doesn’t actually mention critical injuries in any of its results.
Also, are debilities totally separate from injuries? They way I see it debilities are descriptive, and just become additional potential threats or adversities to overcome. It seems like most injuries, in that case, would also come with the effects of a debility. If you get shot with a gun, you have a major injury, but also I would make the player roll to overcome adversity in a lot of circumstances.
How are injuries and debilities mechanically distinct?
