Okay, well into our little playtest.

Okay, well into our little playtest.  I’m noting that Face Danger gets a LOT of use, being a flexible and fairly broad move (mostly because of one PC who likes to intimidate his victims…which is Face Danger + Steel).  I’m wondering if perhaps he should get to use it repeatedly, round after round, when he doesn’t get what he wants the first time…

I’m going to leave this sudden moment of “eureka!” here for someone with more aptitude for actual conversion, time, and foresight than I will ever have.

Convert Houses of the Blooded to Apocalypse World standard.  Because Ven with guns are kind of interesting, and the Narrator/MC standards are amazingly similar: one plays to find out what all these people will do next.

Some of the playbooks would seem to have an obvious association with the various Houses, but this is only definitive at your own risk:

Brainer?  Serpent.

Gunlugger?  Wolf.

Hardholder?  Elk.

Skinner?  Fox…most definitely Fox.

Driver?  Falcon.

Operator?  Bear.

Dungeon World or City of Judas might be a better base model than AW proper, but I think this has a bit of potential!  Also, since every time I’ve tried to launch Houses it’s been one Epic Fail after another, I’m wondering if AW might be more accessible to folks.

Finally managed to loop my tabletop group’s resident cyberpunk junkie into getting a quick (for us) play-by-email game together with another tabletop group’s resident gun bunny and a third mutual friend.  We will be testing this baby to destruction!  One Techie, one Soldier, and one Infiltrator…and just for the gun bunny (‘He Who Plays Punisher Clones”) I think their first run will be a slightly messy and complicated grappling with the cheerful and benevolent combine known as SHIVA Enterprises.  (Three guesses what business makes their bank balance tingle.)

More to follow as the (probably very slow) torrent feed provides.  Two of three characters are done, along with the background discussion.  I need to go nudge the Techie…
