Any ideas for city names?

Any ideas for city names? I’m looking to create an entirely fresh city for my Urban Shadows run; something completely different than anything in real life. If I use the name of a real city, I’ll be tempted to fall back on real world tropes for that city, and it’ll constrict my creativity.

To that end, any ideas? I’d like something that’s not too obvious (“Umberton, Blackvale”), but something that’s not completely disconnected from the genre (“Meadowbrooke, Jefferson Valley”) either.

I’m so hard to please. 😛

Finally manged to get my hands on the final release PDF! Money’s been tight, but when I saw it for sale on DTRPG, I just had to find the cash. I’m glad I did! It looks so sleek, so much more fleshed out than the last beta version I saw. Superb!

I’ve been poring through it with my creativity helmet on. I’ll probably get around to updating my old homebrew archetypes, now that the rules are finalized and I have a better understanding of how the AW engine runs. Maybe I’ll post it here, if I remember. (I’ll at least be doing The Fox. Oh how I love me some kumiho.)

Made another! I should probably stop until I get around to actually pre-ordering, but my girlfriend was very eager for me to make this one for our little test run, so I ran with it. Thought I’d share it here, but as with the last one, it probably requires a lot of balancing!

Quick question regarding archetypes and their starting stats.

Quick question regarding archetypes and their starting stats. It’s come to my attention that, using the 2, 1, 0, -1 stat layout in the 1.1 book, the archetype I recently made can start with +3 Blood. While the Wolf can as well, the archetype I created thrives especially in combat, so +3 Blood from the start always seemed a little… broken? I was concerned about this when first writing it, too.

So the question is this: If I were to make the starting layout, before the free point is added, say… Blood 1, Heart 0, Mind 0, Spirit 1, is that just as balanced as Blood 2, Heart -1, Mind 0, Spirit 1? Or should I definitely stick to the format in the original group of US archetypes?

I’m very new to Urban Shadows (as in, “I only started reading up on Apocalypse World in general as of about two and a half weeks ago”), but I got a creative itch with this lovely hack that very quickly needed scratching. So forgive me if it’s unbalanced! Feedback would also be appreciated for that reason.
